2. Corinthians 4:18
4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.
DA - The Desire of Ages (1898)
While the wind is itself invisible, it produces effects that are seen and felt. So, the work of the Spirit upon the soul will reveal itself in every act of him who has felt its saving power. When the Spirit of God takes possession of the heart, it transforms the life. Sinful thoughts are put away, evil deeds are renounced; love, humility, and peace take the place of anger, envy, and strife. Joy takes the place of sadness, and the countenance reflects the light of heaven. No one sees the hand that lifts the burden, or beholds the light descend from the courts above. The blessing comes when by faith the soul surrenders itself to God. Then that power which no human eye can see creates a new being in the image of God. {DA 173.1}
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Can we see God? No, we cannot physically see Him, but we know He is there. By faith we see God’s presence in our lives’ and can feel His saving power working for us. This is when the blessing will come, when we surrender ourselves to our Creator, who creates in us a new being in His own image. What a mighty God we serve. Continue to claim God’s promises and believe, by faith, that God will hear and answer your prayers according to His will. As you pray, invite God into your heart.
Our Father, God Almighty
We thank You for this privilege and opportunity to be able to bow before You individually and together as a congregation, one family under one accord. We pray that by faith we would see You in our lives’, for the things which are not seen are eternal. We pray that You help us and strengthen us to put away all the sin from our lives'. For the wages of sin is death, but Your gift to us is everlasting life through Jesus Christ. You are from everlasting to everlasting and we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. I pray that you bless us with a double portion of Your Holy Spirit and that You may create in us a new being. Save us and forgive us of our sins, and we thank you for giving us the victory over sin through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. All these things we ask and pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
