Isaiah 44:3

Conditions to Answered Prayer—There are certain conditions upon which we may expect that God will hear and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel our need of help from Him. He has promised, “I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground.” Isaiah 44:3. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, who long after God, may be sure that they will be filled. The heart must be open to the Spirit’s influence, or God’s blessing cannot be received. {Pr 101.2}
Sister White writes that one of the steps to Christ, one of the conditions which we may expect God to hear and answer our prayers, is that we feel our need of help from Him. We must see our need. God will not hear the prayers of a lukewarm Laodicean. If we come to God with a contrite heart, He will pour His spirit upon us, and blessings upon our offspring. If we hunger and thirst after righteousness, He will pour living water upon us, and we can be sure that we will be filled.
Our Father, God Almighty,
We thank You for giving us this privilege of being able to come to the foot of Your throne in prayer. You have told us that if we hunger and thirst after righteousness, we can be sure that we will be filled. We pray that You pour out Your holy spirit upon us, give us a double portion of Your holy spirit that we may be filled. May our cup runneth over. We see our need and we pray that You will bless our worship this day and bless everyone that has an ear that we may hear what Your spirit saith unto our churches. Please bless us with Your manna from heaven. Save us and forgive us of our sins, the known and the unknown. We thank You and praise You, we love You. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
