Call to Worship

Philippians 4:19,20

4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

4:20 Now unto God and our Father [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

COL - Christ’s Object Lessons (1900)

Let your heart break for the longing it has for God, for the living God. The life of Christ has shown what humanity can do by being partaker of the divine nature. All that Christ received from God we too may have. Then ask and receive. With the persevering faith of Jacob, with the unyielding persistence of Elijah, claim for yourself all that God has promised. {COL 149.2}

If we ask, we shall receive all that Christ received from God. But we have to ask in faith. Persevering, persistently claiming God’s promises. We need the faith of Jacob, and not let go of God until he blesses us. God has promised, He will never leave us nor forsake us. This is a promise from God, and God’s promises are sure. So, For everyone that asketh receiveth.

Our Father, Which art in heaven,

We come before You on this Your Holy Sabbath Day for worship and in thanksgiving, prayer, and praise. We thank You for all of the wonderful blessings You have bestowed upon us this past week. We thank You for all of Your promises. We claim Your promise, that if we ask, we shall receive and all that Christ received from You, we too may have. We thank You for allowing us to be partakers of the divine nature. We pray that You will bless our worship today and that You anoint our heads with oil from on high. We are privileged to be in Your presence and unto You be the glory for ever and ever. Save us and forgive us of our sins. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers and for giving us the victory over sin. These things we ask, and pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
