Do Not Let Go of God’s Promises—Every saint who comes to God with a true heart, and sends his honest petitions to Him in faith, will have his prayers answered. Your faith must not let go of the promises of God, if you do not see or feel the immediate answer to your prayers. Be not afraid to trust God. Rely upon His sure promise: “Ask, and ye shall receive.” God is too wise to err, and too good to withhold any good thing from His saints that walk uprightly. Man is erring, and although his petitions are sent up from an honest heart, he does not always ask for the things that are good for himself, or that will glorify God. When this is so, our wise and good Father hears our prayers, and will answer, sometimes immediately; but He gives us the things that are for our best good and His own glory. God gives us blessings; if we could look into His plan, we would clearly see that He knows what is best for us and that our prayers are answered. Nothing hurtful is given, but the blessing we need, in the place of something we asked for that would not be good for us, but to our hurt. {Pr 70.1}
I saw that if we do not feel immediate answers to our prayers, we should hold fast our faith, not allowing distrust to come in, for that will separate us from God. If our faith wavers, we shall receive nothing from Him. Our confidence in God should be strong; and when we need it most, the blessing will fall upon us like a shower of rain.—(Testimonies for the Church 1:120, 121.) {Pr 70.2}
We all need a shower of blessings. We pray and sometimes it seems as if God does not hear our prayers. On the contrary, God does hear our prayers and answers, maybe not in the way we would like, but always in a way that is for our own good. God loves us and would not bring us hurt, but the blessings we need. He knows what we need better than we do. We have to trust God and believe, with faith that He will answer. Rely on His promises and be ready to receive His blessings. Do not let go of God, as He will not let go of you.
Our kind and gracious Father,
We come to the foot of Your Throne of Grace in thanksgiving, praise, and prayer. It is our privilege and honor to be in the presence of the Almighty. We are thankful and grateful to You for giving us this day and every day You give us. We thank You for Your breath of life. We thank You for speaking to us through Your Word. We pray that we can hear Your voice that we may follow wherever You lead us in this world. Thank You for listening to us as we bring our petitions before You. We are blessed that You know us better than we know ourselves. Thank You for the wonderful plan You have for us. Thank you for answering our prayers, maybe not in the way we would like but in the way that is best for us. We pray to be of service to You as we go about our time here on earth. We look forward to the day when You come again. In the while, we pray to fulfill Your will for us in our life. We claim Your promises to us as we bring our heartfelt prayers to You in faith for Your answer and blessing. Thank You for the promise that if we ask, we will receive, even blessings poured upon us like a shower of rain. We all pray for a shower of blessings. We trust in You and surrender our all. Help us walk in Your ways and remain in continual communion with You. We pray to hold fast our faith and not allow distrust to come in and separate us from You. Heal us, and we shall be healed. Save us, and we shall be saved, for Thou art our praise. Praise be to You and all the glory in Your name. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
