Call to Worship

Revelation 3:21

3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

The meek “shall inherit the earth.” It was through the desire for self-exaltation that sin entered into the world, and our first parents lost the dominion over this fair earth, their kingdom. It is through self-abnegation that Christ redeems what was lost. And He says we are to overcome as He did. Revelation 3:21. Through humility and self-surrender we may become heirs with Him when “the meek shall inherit the earth.” Psalm 37:11. {MB 17.2}

Can you imagine sitting besides Jesus on His throne? If you overcome sin and temptation, as did Jesus, than that is exactly what Jesus said you will do. But we have to keep our eyes on Jesus. It is when we allow ourselves to drift from God that Satan can creep into our life and we manifest a desire for self-exaltation. When we exalt ourselves, we will surely be brought down and humbled. Once humbled, we need to remain humble. We are redeemed through Jesus’ denial of self. He is our great exemplar. To be like Jesus, is to deny self, living a life of meekness and humility. The Word of God says, “the meek shall inherit the earth.” Is your desire to be an heir with Jesus in the Royal Family? An Amen belongs right here.

Our heavenly Father,

We come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for the sacrifice You made of Your only begotten son to save that which was lost. We pray that You will give us the strength and courage to overcome sin and temptation, as You also overcame, and are set down with our Father at His throne. Anoint us with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your Spirit live and dwell within us, abide in us, that we may abide in You. We are sorry we have sinned against You and pray for Your forgiveness. Humble us dear Lord that one day we will inherit the earth. Save us we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
