Chapter 20— The Careless and Indifferent to Redeem Their Honor
Let those who have become careless and indifferent, and are withholding their tithes and offerings, remember that they are blocking the way, so that the truth cannot go forth to the regions beyond. I am bidden to call upon the people of God to redeem their honor by rendering to God a faithful tithe.—Manuscript 44, 1905. {CS 96.3}
There is an urgent need for funds in these last days. The world is in dire need to hear the truth that brings lost souls out of darkness. As in Noah’s day, complacency permeates not only in the world but also in the church. We are to watch and pray and work before it is too late. The Bible says that the time for the end will be cut short, and many will be caught without oil in their lamps. The time is now for God’s people to redeem their honor and faithfully give back to God what He requires.
Our kind and gracious Father,
We thank You for all Your provisions that sustain us in this world. We realize the urgency in going forward with Your saving truth. We pray that You bless these means being returned into Your treasury to further the work appointed to us. We pray for Your help in being effective witnesses here locally but also abroad in the regions beyond. We pray to honor and glorify Your name to all nations and people. We pray that none of the brethren become complacent, careless and indifferent in the work and in their giving. We pray that if they do, let them redeem their honor by rendering their required amount. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
