Acts 1: 9
1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Christ came to earth as God in the guise of humanity. He ascended to heaven as the King of saints. His ascension was worthy of His exalted character. He went as One mighty in battle, a conqueror, leading captivity captive. He was attended by the heavenly host, amid shouts and acclamations of praise and celestial song. {AG 49.2}
Only for a few moments could the disciples hear the angels’ song as their Lord ascended, His hands outstretched in blessing. They heard not the greeting He received. All heaven united in His reception. His entrance was not begged. All heaven was honored by His presence.... {6BC 1053.5}
The seal of heaven has been fixed to Christ’s atonement (Manuscript 134, 1897). {6BC 1053.6}
We should all pray that we would be found worthy to enter into God’s heavenly kingdom. To have our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. To be heirs of the Royal family. To live a righteous life, as did Jesus when He came to earth in the guise of humanity, and follow in the steps to Christ to receive His character. We can imagine what it will be like to be taken into heaven amongst the heavenly host, amid shouts and song. To be in the presence of our mighty King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What a day of rejoicing it will be.
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for all of Your wonderful promises. We joyfully await the day that You will return for us to take us home. We thank You for coming to earth in the guise of humanity for our sakes. For healing us by Your stripes. We are sorry that with every sin we wound You afresh. We repent of our sins and ask for Your forgiveness. We pray that we may be worthy of receiving Your character to reflect unto others so they may receive Your light, to be worthy of having our names written in Your Book of Life. That one day we will be with You, our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, for eternity in our heavenly home. This we pray, in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
