John 14: 26-27
14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Repentance for sin is the first fruits of the working of the Holy Spirit in the life. It is the only process by which infinite purity reflects the image of Christ in His redeemed subjects. In Christ all fullness dwells. Science that is not in harmony with Him is of no value. He teaches us to count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. This knowledge is the highest science that any man can reach (Manuscript 28, 1905). { 6BC 1068.6 }
In bringing men to repentance, it is not the office work of the Holy Spirit to reveal new truths, but to present to the mind and urge upon the conscience the precious lessons which Christ has given in the Old and New Testaments (Manuscript 32, 1900). { 6BC 1068.7 }
Although we cannot see our Lord Christ Jesus, He is right here with us. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom God has sent, is available to bring to remembrance the lessons which Christ has given us. If we allow the Holy Spirit into our life, He will give us power, strength, and wisdom to repent of our sins and overcome, as He also overcame. Both to do and to will of His good pleasure. Through the Spirit, we shall receive peace, and be free of anxiety and fear. This precious truth is given to us for all to share. It is up to faithful Christians to go out and teach, bringing the lost to the foot of the cross of Christ Jesus, that they may receive the working of the Holy Spirit in their life. If one were simply to ask, they can receive the power of the Holy Spirit and reflect the image of Christ. Pray for that which God has given, and you too shall receive.
Our heavenly Father,
We thank Thee for sending us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. We thank You for giving us peace, Your peace, that we should not be troubled nor afraid. We have been extremely blessed, and pray for Your continued blessings. We pray, as Elisha did, for a double portion of Your Holy Spirit. We pray that You pour out the Holy Spirit upon us, to live and dwell with in us, abide in us, that we may reflect the image and the light of Christ Jesus. To lead us and guide us in the way we should go. Anoint our heads with oil, and may our cup runneth over. We are sorry and repent of our sins and pray for Your forgiveness. All these things we ask and pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
