Proverbs 23:26
23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
"Then, children, come to Jesus. Give to God the most precious offering that it is possible for you to make; give Him your heart. He speaks to you saying, “My son, My daughter, give Me thine heart. Though your sins be as scarlet, I will make them white as snow; for I will cleanse you with My own blood. I will make you members of My family—children of the heavenly King. Take My forgiveness, My peace which I freely give you. I will clothe you with My own righteousness,— the wedding garment,—and make you fit for the marriage supper of the Lamb. When clothed in My righteousness, through prayer, through watchfulness, through diligent study of My word, you will be able to reach a high standard. You will understand the truth, and your character will be moulded by a divine influence; for this is the will of God, even your sanctification.” (The S.D.A. Bible Commentary 3:1162.) {Pr 241.2}
What love Christ has for us. He knocks at the door of our hearts asking that we let Him in. He asks for us just as we are. Even as sinners, we are not beyond forgiveness. By His blood we can be washed clean, as white as snow. He will give us His peace, and will clothe us with His robe of righteousness. But we must abide through prayer, and diligent study of His word to be able to reach a high standard. It is God’s will for us to be justified and sanctified by His divine influence. To be made members of His royal family to live forever with our heavenly King. Let’s make this our prayer today.
Dear God,
We thank You for the privilege of being able to come into Your presence in thanksgiving and prayer. You have called us all to confession and repentance, that You may forgive us and give us a new heart. We pray that we may be justified and sanctified and molded by Your influence. To receive Your character and understanding that we may reach a higher standard. We pray that You may help us open our eyes and observe all of Your ways. We pray for the forgiveness of our sins, that You cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We pray that we may be made members of Your royal family to live forever with You in Your heavenly kingdom. These things we ask and pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
