Numbers 12: 3
12:3 (Now the man Moses [was] very meek, above all the men which [were] upon the face of the earth.)
Moses Superior to All Rulers—
Moses stands forth superior in wisdom and integrity to all the sovereigns and statesmen of earth. Yet this man claims no credit for himself, but points the people to God as the Source of all power and wisdom. Where is there such a character among men of this age? Those who would speak contemptuously of the law of God are dishonoring Him and casting a shadow over the most illustrious character presented in the annals of men (The Signs of the Times, October 21, 1886). {1BC 1113.2}
Way too much attention is given to the politicians, musicians, actors, athletes of the world and not enough to those who will help lead God’s children to their heavenly Father. The aforementioned are praised, honored, given glory and even idolized while the Word of God is set aside in the pursuit of entertainment. Satan uses these distractions to keep our eyes stayed on him and not on Jesus. Do not be entrapped in his snare that will lead you to perdition. Satan wants to have you to sift you as wheat. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, that you might live and not die.
Our heavenly Father,
We thank You and praise You for all that You have done for us. You have given us Your breath of life that we may live and not die. We pray that You keep a hedge of Your heavenly angels round about us to keep us safe from Satan and his wiles. Let us not give in to the distractions that we are constantly bombarded with through the media, so that our eyes stay fixed on You. Please help us to help lead others to the foot of Your throne that they may serve You, and only You. Let Your Word be the focus of their attention that they might let go of their false idols. Keep us close to Your bosom that none can pluck us out of Your right hand of power. We thank You and praise You, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
