Ezekiel 16:49
16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
No Imitation—
The prophet Ezekiel describes a class whose example Christians should not imitate [Ezekiel 16:49 quoted]. {4BC 1161.9}
We are not ignorant of the fall of Sodom because of the corruption of its inhabitants. The prophet has here specified the particular evils which led to dissolute morals. We see the very sins now existing in the world which were in Sodom, and which brought upon her the wrath of God, even to her utter destruction (The Health Reformer, July, 1887). {4BC 1161.10}
Sin is what separates us from God. Where there is no God, there are no morals. The mindset today is to do, as I will, not as God will. This is not the way. The only way is through Christ Jesus our Lord. He is our Savior, intercessor, redeemer, justifier, vindicator, healer, and master. Just as in the days of Sodom, people focus on self, not on others that need help, and certainly not on God. The Bible says, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.” History has proven the decay of humankind being a direct result of having God removed from society. In its place are propagated immoral heathen customs and traditions through the media, internet, Hollywood, and the different devices Satan uses to have the people reject the love of God and all His mercies. Different movements specifically designed to disobey God and His laws targeted to deceive the youth. As it was in Sodom, so it is today. We all know what happed to Sodom and Gomorrah. Only a few were spared then and but a few will be spared now, the saints of God. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Our Father, which art in heaven,
We come before You in thanksgiving, praise, and prayer. We thank You God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit for showing us the way. There is only one way to the Father, and that is through our intercessor Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We are so thankful and eternally grateful for the sacrifice made on our behalf to save us from sin. We pray for all the people caught in Satan’s snare of lies and deceptions. We pray for those practicing the immoral values preached by the media, internet, and Hollywood. We pray for all the youth targeted to believe in all these things other than God, resulting in the rampant immorality of today. We pray for the Holy Spirit, the comforter You left for us, to touch their hearts and minds, to wake up and realize that they are slaves to Satan who cares not in any way for their well-being or salvation. We pray for all churches to stay strong and faithful in Your Word, and not give in to compromise to appease the world, rather to preach Your truths that save. Help them all to realize that they are in this world, and not of this world. Broad is the way that leads to destruction. Help us to feed Your flock that there may be a bountiful harvest. Help us to lead others to the foot of Your throne. We cannot save anyone, but we can lead him or her to the One who can. Please keep Your Holy angels round about us to keep us safe and protected from Satan and his evil ways. Grant us Your wisdom, understanding, and discernment to do what is right, favorable, and well pleasing in Your sight. We pray to honor and glorify Your name, and let not our will, but let Thy will be done. We thank You and praise You, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
