Call to Worship

Psalms 91: 14-16

91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

In the time when God’s judgments are falling without mercy, oh, how enviable to the wicked will be the position of those who abide “in the secret place of the Most High”—the pavilion in which the Lord hides all who have loved Him and have obeyed His commandments! The lot of the righteous is indeed an enviable one at such a time to those who are suffering because of their sins. But the door of mercy is closed to the wicked, no more prayers are offered in their behalf, after probation ends. {3BC 1150.7}

But this time has not yet come. Mercy’s sweet voice is still to be heard. The Lord is now calling sinners to come to Him (Manuscript 151, 1901). {3BC 1150.8}

And they that know Your name will put their trust in You: for You, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek You. You said and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you will glorify me. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; neither will the flame kindle upon you. Wherefore the LORD God of Israel says, I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me forever: but now the LORD says, be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you. Can you hear God’s sweet voice calling you? If we answer God’s call to come to Him, He will answer. Some may get discouraged because of a Trial they are experiencing. If any are going through a trial, or just coming out of a trial, or entering a trial, if we set our Love on God and Jesus, if we honor Him and call on His name, He Will Deliver us. However, there are conditions. The Lord will hide those who have loved Him and obey His commandments. Those will be able to abide in the secret place of the Most High. Enter through the door of mercy today, for tomorrow is not promised, and probation is soon to end.

Our Father, which art in heaven,

We come into Your presence in thanksgiving, praise, and prayer. We thank You for all Your love and Your mercy. We have sinned against You and are truly sorry and humbly repent of all our sins. We pray that in Your compassion and mercy, and by Your grace, You forgive us of our sins, wash us clean in the blood of Christ and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We thank You for setting Your love upon us, for delivering us and setting us high, because You know us by our name as we have put our trust in You. We claim Your promise that if we honor You, You will honor us. We thank You, as we call upon You, for answering us and for being with us in time of trouble; delivering us and honoring us. Thank You for granting us long life, peace, and showing us Your salvation. As we pass through our trials in life, we pray that we may abide in the secret place of the Most High, the place where You keep Your righteous, all who have loved You and have obeyed Your commandments. We pray that You will bless us and feed us with Your Word from on High. We pray You speak to us, and that we all hear Your voice, understand the message You have for us, and follow You wherever You lead. May Your Word live in our hearts, minds, and souls to share with others as we go about doing Your business. We pray Your door of mercy is open to all sinners You are calling to come to You, who are willing and able to stay on the narrow path that leads to Your heavenly kingdom and receive Your gift of eternal life, for You, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek You. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
