Isaiah 44:3

44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

Conditions to Answered Prayer—

There are certain conditions upon which we may expect that God will hear and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel our need of help from Him. He has promised, “I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground.” Isaiah 44:3. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, who long after God, may be sure that they will be filled. The heart must be open to the Spirit’s influence, or God’s blessing cannot be received. {Pr 101.2} SC (1892)

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. And on my servants and on my handmaidens, I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. One of the steps to Christ, one of the conditions which we may expect God to hear and answer our prayers, is that we feel our need of help from Him. We must see our need. God will not hear the prayers of a lukewarm Laodicean. If we come to God with a contrite heart, He will pour His spirit upon us, and blessings upon our offspring. If we hunger and thirst after righteousness, He will pour living water upon us, and we can be sure that we will be filled.

Our Father, which art in heaven,

We enter into Your presence in thanksgiving, praise, and prayer. We thank You for giving us this privilege of being able to come to the foot of Your throne in prayer. Prayer is our lifeline to heaven indeed. You have told us that if we hunger and thirst after righteousness, we can be sure that we will be filled. We pray that You pour out Your holy spirit upon us, grant us a double portion of Your holy spirit that we may be filled. Anoint our heads with oil and may our cup runneth over. Lead us on a path of righteousness for Your name’s sake. May Thy word be a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path. We see our need and we pray that You will bless us this day and bless everyone that has an ear that all may hear what Your spirit saith unto our churches. Please bless us with Your manna from heaven. We are sorry and humbly repent of our sins. Save us, we pray, and forgive us of our sins, the known and the unknown, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Create in us a clean heart, Oh God, and renew a right spirit within us. We pray You pour water upon all that are thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground; pour Your spirit upon our seed, and Your blessing upon our offspring. We pray Your children will all spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses. May Your children be born again, born both of water and of the Spirit, and enter into the kingdom of God. We are baptized with water unto repentance: but You that cometh again will baptize us with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. We love You Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
