God is a God of Miracles

Dear Reader.

Books / Pr - Prayer (2002) / Chapter 6—The Prayer Of Faith

Jesus Is as Willing to Listen to Prayer Today as When He Was On Earth—Worldly wisdom teaches that prayer is not essential. Men of science claim that there can be no real answer to prayer; that this would be a violation of law, a miracle, and that miracles have no existence. The universe, say they, is governed by fixed laws, and God Himself does nothing contrary to these laws. Thus they represent God as bound by His own laws—as if the operation of divine laws could exclude divine freedom. Such teaching is opposed to the testimony of the Scriptures. Were not miracles wrought by Christ and His apostles? The same compassionate Saviour lives today, and He is as willing to listen to the prayer of faith as when He walked visibly among men.—(The Great Controversy, 525.) {Pr 60.3}

God is the alpha and the omega. God is a God of miracles. God is almighty without any restrictions on His power. God has given us power through Him. We can do all things through Christ Jesus, which strengthens us. He has given us a lifeline to heaven through prayer. This gift is not for us to figure out. Christ walked this earth and wrought miracles that we may believe. He granted this power to the apostles, and to you and me. Jesus is ready to hear your prayers of faith. Believe in the power from on High and experience the miracles Christ is ready to bless you with.

God almighty,

We come into Your presence in praise and thanksgiving. We faithfully bring our petitions before You as the people did while You were here on earth. We thank You for the gift of prayer, our lifeline to You and the Father in heaven. We pray for Your power from on High to wrought out miracles for us here today on this earth. We pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, for a double portion as Elisha did. We also thank You for the gift of prophecy. The Bible tells us that You tell us of things before they happen, so when they happen, we may believe. Earthly science cannot explain or measure the magnitude of how mighty a God You are. Yet, in all Your glory, You still are willing to listen to the prayer of faith, and answer our prayers in a mighty way. This is all from how much You love Your children. As an earthly parent desires the love of their children, You likewise desire our love in return. We cannot earn Your love; however, the Bible says that if we love You, to keep Your commandments. We are sorry, humbly repent of our sins, and pray for Your forgiveness. We pray for Your Spirit to lead us and guide us and keep us on the strait path to heaven. If we wander to the left or to the right, we pray that You help us back to the narrow road less traveled. We pray for Your power, strength and courage, wisdom and understanding, and discernment to do what is right, favorable, and well pleasing in Your sight. May we honor and glorify Your name, and not let our will, but let Thy will be done. Thank You for Your compassion, mercy, and long-suffering towards us on our pilgrimage here on this earth. Praise be and all the glory to You, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
