God Honors Those Who Honor Him

Call to Worship

1 Chronicles 28:9

28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Fidelity Must Precede Blessings—

[1 Chronicles 28:9 quoted.] This charge is given to the men in positions of trust in the work of God today as verily as it was given to Solomon. The day of test and trial is upon them, as verily as it was then upon Solomon. {3BC 1128.10}

Fidelity is required before God can bestow the blessings that He has promised. Those who offer God acceptable service must obey all His commandments. Thus they become representatives of Christ (Manuscript 163, 1902). {3BC 1128.11}

God honors those who honor Him. We have all been given a great responsibility in proclaiming the gospel to help save souls. As Christ led us by His perfect example, so must we lead others in walking a Christian life. To those whom much is given, much is expected. More so to the leaders of the church that the flock is looking to for direction. God sees everything and is all knowing. If you are living in sin while serving God, God will remove your candlestick. There is no such teaching in the Bible that says once saved, always saved. We must die to self-daily. To serve God is to love God.

Our kind and gracious heavenly Father,

We thank You for giving us the privilege of being Your disciples. We pray that as we work out Your plan of salvation, that we maintain our Christian walk. May we be an example unto others and a source of strength to them, just as You are to us. We thank You for entrusting to us the responsibility of bringing lost souls to the foot of Your throne. In so doing, we pray that we may honor and glorify Your name. We pray for strength and courage to perform and be of service to You and that it is acceptable in Your sight. Praise be to You, dear Lord, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
