Stewardship
Proverbs 3: 9,10
3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Not until God ceases to bless His children will they cease to be under bonds to return to Him the portion that He claims. Not only should they render the Lord the portion that belongs to Him, but they should bring also to His treasury, as a gratitude offering, a liberal tribute. With joyful hearts they should dedicate to the Creator the first fruits of their bounties—their choicest possessions, their best and holiest service. Thus they will gain rich blessings. AA 339,340
God is continually blessing us. We certainly welcome these blessings. Sister White writes that until God stops blessing us, are we under bond to return to God his portion in tributes and offerings. This is a blessing, to be able to be co laborers with God in the work of salvation. If we honor God with our substance, our barns will be filled with plenty and our presses shall burst. The work is out there, but it begins with us, as stewards of God’s treasury. Let us give to the Lord with joyful hearts and we will gain His rich blessings.
Our Father, God Almighty,
We thank You for giving us this privilege, opportunity, and honor to be able to give back unto You that portion that You claim. It is with much gratitude and with joyful hearts that we bring You our first fruits and offerings. We pray that they are favorable in Your sight and may they go towards furthering the work of salvation You have appointed for us to do. May You bless these means and multiply them to help Your gospel truth go out to the four corners of the world. May You also bless that portion which remains with us, that our barns will be filled with plenty and our presses shall burst. We ask for the forgiveness of our sins, even now. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
