Jeremiah 17: 25
17:25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
God appointed Israel to be a light to the Gentiles, thus to call them back to their loyalty. But Israel herself became blind to the light, deaf to the messages sent to open her understanding (Manuscript 151, 1899). {4BC 1156.3}
Jesus came to this earth to be a light unto all, particularly to His disciples. In turn, they were to bring the gospel to not only Israel, but also to the gentiles. However, those whose hearts were hardened refused the light, rejecting the message of salvation. Evangelists face the same obstacles today, but must continue their march to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion. We as witnesses are to reflect the light of Jesus to call the lost back to their Master. Like Paul, we must fight the good fight. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
Our Father,
We come before You in thanksgiving and praise. We thank You for watching over us, protecting us, and keeping us safe. We pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us, that we may receive light from heaven to reflect and shine unto the lost, that they may return to You. We pray for Your strength and courage to continue to fight the good fight. As Your faithful witnesses, help us to bring forth the light that the eyes of the blind may be opened. Help us to lay hold on eternal life that we may remain in Your presence forever. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
