Does Christianity Divide?

Call to Worship

1 Corinthians 1:13

1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Christ the Uniting Stone—

Paul asks, “Is Christ divided?” Have we not one spiritual Head? Christ has been the uniting stone, the chief cornerstone, in all ages. The patriarchs, the Levitical priesthood, and Christians of today, all have their center in Him. He is all and in all (The Review and Herald, January 3, 1899). {6BC 1083.6}

Christ Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is mediator for all. No man comes to the Father but by Him. No earthly being is our intercessor, period. No one can claim to be the Vicar of Christ, which is pure blasphemy. Christ Jesus welcomes all people to come to Him just as they are. He does not look on the outside, your profession, or your possessions. Christ looks at the heart. Christ shed His blood for all. He is the head of the church and His people are the members. Without the head, the members will not function. He is all and in all.

Our God Almighty,

We thank You for being the head of the church and we the members. For being our all and in all. Thank You for taking our place and paying the ransom for us. Thank You for being our intermediary between heaven and earth. We can do nothing without You, the chief cornerstone of the foundation in our life. We pray for Your help in uniting all into the church and leading them to You and Your truth that saves. What You have joined together, let not man put asunder. We are sorry we have sinned against You and pray for Your forgiveness. We thank and praise You, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
