1 Samuel 2: 26
2:26 And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.
A Place for Consecrated Youth—
God gives all an opportunity in this life to develop character. All may fill their appointed place in His great plan. The Lord accepted Samuel from his very childhood, because his heart was pure, and he had reverence for God. He was given to God, a consecrated offering, and the Lord made him, even in his childhood, a channel of light. A life consecrated as was Samuel’s is of great value in God’s sight. If the youth of today will consecrate themselves as did Samuel, the Lord will accept them and use them in His work. Of their life they may be able to say with the psalmist, “O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works” (Manuscript 51, 1900). {2BC 1010.5}
To be consecrated to God at an early age is a blessing of great value in God’s sight. However, it is never too late to surrender your life to Jesus. All have an opportunity to develop God’s character at any age. God has a plan for all His children and wants to use all in His work. God welcomes and calls all to come to Him. By surrendering your life to Christ, you become a vessel unto Him and He will pour out His Spirit and fill you that you may impart oil to those who are living in darkness. We may not all start out where we would like, but if you fight the good fight, you will finish your course with joy.
Dear God,
We thank You for giving us Your Word, to teach us all things pertaining to Your character. We pray that You will help us train up our children in the way they should go, so that when they are old, they will not depart from it. We pray that You will lead and guide the young, the old and us all, that we may receive Your character. May we be Your vessels to pour Your Spirit into, that we may impart Your oil unto the lost souls of this world. We pray for Your strength and courage, that we may fight the good fight, until Your Kingdom come. We pray that we may find favor in Your sight, and may we fulfill Your will for us in our life. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
