Dear Reader,

1 Corinthians 11: 23-26

11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the [same] night in which he was betrayed took bread:

11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.

Matthew 26: 26-29

26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Our Father,

We thank You and are eternally grateful for what You have done for us. The sacrifice that You made of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins, so that we may have life and not be lifeless bodies tossed to the wind. You Love us so much that You would have made this sacrifice for any one of us. We want You to know that we Love You as well, from the bottom of our hearts, and can only think of pleasing You.

It is written that man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Feed us Your word this day so that it will live in our minds and in our hearts. As we figuratively eat of Your broken body, we do as You asked us to, in remembrance of You, lest we ever, ever forget Gethsemane.

It is written that Your blood is the blood of the new testament, which You shed for many for the remission of sins. You have told us to drink to commemorate the great deliverance wrought out as the result of Your death and that You will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when You drink it new with us in Your Father's kingdom. We joyfully await that day.

As we figuratively drink of Your blood, we do as You asked us to, in remembrance of You, lest we ever, ever forget. Save us and forgive us of our sins- the known and the unknown, wash us clean in the blood of Christ. Create in us a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within us. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen.
