Jude 1: 20-25

1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

1:23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.

Most Earnest Work to be Done—

The instruction given by Jude from verse twenty to the close of the chapter, will make our work a complete whole, teaching us how to conduct the warfare in the service of Christ. No one-sided extravagance is to be revealed, no indolence of shiftlessness is to be indulged. We are not to ignore any man’s individuality, or in any way to justify cold-hearted criticism or selfish practice. {7BC 953.4}

This scripture brings to view the fact that there is most earnest work to be done, and we need divine intuition that we may know how to work for souls ready to perish. There are souls to be plucked out of the fire, there are souls who are to be treated with the tenderest compassion. Workers are needed who have learned in the school of Christ His method of saving souls (Letter 7, 1895). {7BC 953.5}

Oftentimes, Christ befriended sinners to gain their attention as He provided instruction and healing to them. Christ often did not eat or sleep as He vigilantly cared for God’s children. Christ gave His life for the world, that whosoever believed on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Christ looks to us to be in the same spiritual condition as He to advance the kingdom of heaven. He looks in our hearts and longs to fill us with His spirit. This is His will for us in our life. Those who answer the call, He will take great pleasure in them.

Dear God,

We thank Thee for the way You love us so much that You would have none of us perish in our sins. For You came to save us from our sins, and not in our sins. We pray that as You did, so may we in caring for Your children as witnesses of Your love for them. To let the whole world know

of Your love and wonderful promises to them, even of everlasting life. Help us to follow Your instruction of saving souls so that our work here on earth will be complete. May we all fulfill Your will for us in our life. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
