Question:
Can Ellen White Update her Work and still be a Prophet? Didn’t Ellen White expand on some of her works? For example, Spiritual Gifts was expanded into the 4 Spirit of Prophecy volumes, which were later expanded into the 5 volume “Conflict of the Ages” series. How can she do that and still be inspired?
Answer:
Jeremiah in Jeremiah 36:32 added words to his message.
Here is the verse: “Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.”
In this account Jeremiah was writing to the king of Judah Jehoiakim…again. The King had burned the first scroll and now Jeremiah and his scribe were writing a second. Notice that the verse says that Jeremiah, while retaining his original message, further clarified his message by adding more words to build on the foundation that he had already laid. Ellen White did the same thing with the “Conflict of the Ages”, the four volumes of “Spirit of Prophecy” and in “Spiritual Gifts.” She laid her foundation in the “Spiritual Gifts” books and then built on it.
