Counsels for the Church Chapter 48—Counsels on Stewardship The Privilege of Being a Co-laborer With God

A flood of light is shining from the word of God, and there must be an awakening to neglected opportunities. When all are faithful in giving back to God His own in tithes and offerings, the way will be opened for the world to hear the message for this time. If the hearts of God’s people were filled with love for Christ, if every church member were thoroughly imbued with the spirit of self-sacrifice, if all manifested thorough earnestness, there would be no lack of funds for home or foreign missions. Our resources would be multiplied; a thousand doors of usefulness would be opened, and we should be invited to enter. Had the purpose of God been carried out by His people in giving to the world the message of mercy, Christ would, ere this, have come to the earth, and the saints would have received their welcome into the city of God.505 {CCh275.4}

Brethren, the time is now. We cannot be found fast asleep like the disciples. We must be ready to take advantage of the opportunities that are given to us today. We must show our love for Christ with the spirit of self- sacrifice. Remember, God not only adds, He multiplies, that there would be no lack of funds to carry out his service in giving the world the message of mercy. Let us give cheerfully, for the world to receive His message, that Christ can come for us and welcome us into the city of God.

Our Father, God Almighty

We thank You once again for giving us this opportunity in proclaiming Your message of mercy to this dark world. Let us be the flood of light that shines Your word unto those who have not received Your light of truth. We pray that You bless our offerings, that they will be multiplied by You to help us proclaim Your gospel truth to the world and that we will soon see You coming in the clouds to take us home. Help us and strengthen us to continue the work You have appointed us to do. Save us and forgive us of our sins we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
